Cattle Egret (Bubulcus ibis)
The picture above makes it easy to understand the origin of this bird's name : the Cattle Egret (Bubulcus ibis). Indeed, this species is often seen with cattle or large mammals, feeding on the insects and small vertebrates that are disturbed by these animals. It is a stocky heron white a quite short bill and neck. It has a very large distribution range.
Cattles Egret (Bubulcus ibis) were a pretty common sight during my trip to Kerala, where it is a pretty rare sight in Geneva.
