I find it quite interesting that this species has been named White-faced Ibis (Plegadis chihi). First because only a quite small part of its face is white and only in breeding plumage, and also because when I look it, I feel that this species has so much more than that! :) More seriously, I guess it was maybe to differentiate them from the very similar Glossy Ibis (Plegadis falcinellus).

Anyways, I spotted a group of White-faced Ibis (Plegadis chihi) at the Lagunal Niguel Regional Park and it was really amazing to see them flying. The irridescence of its plumage is magnificient.

Love Nature.
